Our Services
PAIN THAT KEEPS COMING BACK LIMITS EVERYTHING
Many active adults try rest, workouts, or standard care only to see symptoms return.
Why Choose Us
One-on-one care that goes beyond symptom relief
We focus on identifying what is driving your symptoms, improving movement quality, and building a plan that supports long-term results. Every session is individualized and led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy.
Detailed assessment and ongoing support
We take the time to understand your injury history, movement patterns, and training goals so your plan fits your life.
Manual therapy paired with progressive training
Hands-on treatment combined with corrective exercise and strength work helps you build resilient capacity.

No rush, no generic protocols
Longer sessions mean we can address what matters most instead of following a cookie-cutter plan.
Clear next steps after every session
You'll leave with a home program and understanding of how to progress toward your goals.
The Manual Shop is a one-on-one physical therapy practice on Steinway Street in Astoria, serving active adults, athletes, and desk workers from Long Island City, Sunnyside, Jackson Heights, and across Queens and greater New York City. Every session is led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy from start to finish — no aides, no double-booking, no rushed visits.
We treat the full range of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions. For the spine and upper body, we provide hands-on care for low back pain and sciatica, neck and mid back pain, shoulder pain and rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, and elbow, wrist, and hand pain. For the lower body, we specialize in hip pain and hip impingement (FAI), knee pain and IT band syndrome, Achilles tendinopathy and plantar fasciitis, and hamstring strains and groin pain. We also treat conditions many PT practices don't touch: headaches, migraines, dizziness, and vertigo, TMJ pain, and concussion symptoms — all approached through the same whole-body lens.
Our method draws from the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI) and the Institute of Physical Art (IPA), combining manual therapy and myofascial release with breathwork, diaphragmatic training, and progressive strength work to address root causes, not just pain locations. For runners and endurance athletes, our running gait analysis in Astoria pairs a detailed stride assessment with a full-body movement screen to uncover what's actually driving your overuse injury and keep it from coming back.
